GET THE MEDS OUT PROGRAM
SUSPENDEDI
In the Keeping In Touch 2011, the
Health Department advertised a program that we offered in partnership with
the UW- Extension to pick up a postage paid envelope that you can then put
expired/unused medications in to mail to the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.
Since this publication, the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency has suspended
their collection program pending some changes that are required by the U.S.
Drug Enforcement Agency to Drug Collection Programs. We do not have a
timeline for when this program will be reinstated.
We at the
Health Department encourage our residents to please use the service that is
still available through our Police Department.
